I embrace the challenges associated with visual storytelling, and I enjoy developing

video concepts from ideation to final product. Ever since I first picked up a camera, I wanted to learn how to incorporate visuals and sound to tell stories. I enjoy learning video industry trends, building relationships with partners and team members, and developing imaginative concepts to enhance the digital presence of brands.

 Meet Tyler Hastedt

In addition to digesting news and sports information, I grew up with a heavy interest in music. The video production space affords the opportunity to combine my passions of music and visual storytelling. Within video production roles at the University of Rhode Island and the University of North Dakota, I supported strategic initiatives and collaborated closely with coaches, marketing and communications teams.

As lead video creative at URI, I provided a comprehensive reorganization of video archives to promote athletics department initiatives through social media reels, interviews, and promotional content. As Assistant Director of Video Production at UND, I served as Lead Producer of the Through These Doors  video series. The weekly series documented storylines within the North Dakota Hockey program and drove brand affinity from fans, recruits and alumni. Under my direction at the University of Rhode Island, videos contributed to the main athletics Instagram page reaching 300,000+ unique accounts between September 2023 and May 2024. The performance metrics represented a 270% increase in reach over the previous eight-month period.

I enjoy working on an independent basis; however, I also enjoy collaborating on editorial decisions with team members. Through my communication skills and knowledge of production equipment, I have the ability to develop concepts and deliver results.
